My name is Denise and I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the founder of the blog, The Pursuit of Happiness. I work with children, adolescents and adults with diverse backgrounds and a range of concerns. I have worked primarily with cases involving anxiety, trauma, depression, self-harm behaviors, interpersonal relationships, LGBT support, PTSD and ADHD.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and centered around a warm, kind and professional therapeutic relationship. Before we choose to work together, we will discuss your situation over the phone and make sure our therapeutic relationship is a “good fit.”
Initiating counseling can be intimidating and difficult process but it’s extremely important that you feel safe and comfortable. It’s okay to make the first move and start working through the challenges and stressors of life. Challenges in life can often lead us feeling hopeless, stuck, frustrated and overwhelmed. Past traumas, wounds and losses can also be painful. I would love to work with you, help you heal and create your best life.
If you suffer from depression or low mood, you are not alone. Did you know that more than 264 million people worldwide suffer from depression? Depression can wreak havoc on your life and affect nearly every aspect of your life including: your self-worth, your job performance, your motivation, your relationships and your inner peace.
